Authors have often thought all they needed to do was write the book. But when the book is finally written, it’s just the beginning of where the job of being an author starts.
There are more than twenty techniques an author can market their books. Not all methods work for all authors. Some authors are more introverted than others and they have a challenge with being a speaker, even when reading from their own material.
One of my favorite methods of marketing my books is to create educational programs. One of the easiest programs to set up is with churches.
I approach the head of the church and offer to create a program where they will choose a family in need, typically a single mother, someone who has lost their job, or one of the elderly who are struggling to make ends meet.
I charge $150 per person to attend the four hour training and give the church one-third and the selected member of the church and then keep a third for my self. It works very well for everyone.
Once the members participate in a class where they are learning to create more income or being more proactive in creating a more successful lifestyle, it seems to spread throughout the congregation. Then the tithing increases and the church becomes more stable.
It is a wonderful way to give back to your community and help .
